Government Mandated Bulbs

Gus Van Horn wrote today about his first experience with the miserable compact flourescent bulbs that will probably soon be mandated all across the land.  Having bought a new house not too long ago, I had my first experience with the miserable low-water flush toilets.

In not-so-merry old England, their parliament is proposing carbon rationing to be enforced via mandatory “let me see your papers” carbon credit cards.  In this country, I think we may be headed towards toilet paper rationing (to go along with toilet water rationing).

Where does it end?  How much intrusion into their lives do people want to tolerate?
